Stilett

Stilettos, known as the weapon of hired murderers, have a triple- or quadruple-edged blade, a short cross-guard and a baluster-shaped handle. They developed from a similar but somewhat longer type of dagger used for combating armor-plated opponents. Their use was most widespread in Italy, especially in the area of the Venetian Republic in the first half of the 17th century.
