Chain mail suit

Chain mail was used for body protection of warriors. It was made from small metal rings linked together, and was usually worn as the only armour, but sometimes also under a breastplate. A long time before the Europeans and Oriental peoples were familiar with the skill of making mail it was first used in the Eastern Roman Empire. Chain mail was introduced to Europe in the 6th century through Byzantium.
