Blunderbuss or donderbus flintlock naval rifle

On weapon carriers during the 17th and the 18th centuries the soldiers, sailors and civilians used a special type of heavy rifle for close range, with a flared muzzle. The long rod on the bottom side of the rifle fore-end stock was inserted into an opening on the weapon carrier, either a boat or a carriage, so it could spin in all directions.
