Šišana rifle

Šišana rifles were typical Turkish rifles used in all regions of the Ottoman Empire, especially in Persia, where they were used as fortress rifles. Most probably, their name stems from the Persian word šešhane, which means ‘hexagonal’, while some authors claim that the root of their name could also be the rifling of the barrel, which is less likely.
