Casting moulds for bullets

Iron, tin or lead bullets were made using casting moulds. The moulds consisted of two parts, in the form of pliers. Liquid lead was poured through a small opening between the pliers. After cooling and opening the mould, the lead surplus was cut off by an affixed knife thus resulting in a finished rifle ball.
